This site provides registered students with pertinent information for Architecture 351: Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance Architecture, Winter, 2009. Please note that some of the information on this site is subject to change. Check the site frequently to stay up-to-date. Below is a brief explanation of the site and its contents.


Schedule

Under 'schedule' you will find a summary listing of the course by day as well as required and recommended readings for each lecture or series of lectures. To find slides from each lecture click on 'go to IMAGES' in the navigation bar above. This will bring out a list of lecture titles and dates in the main window. Click on the appropriate lecture to see the associated slides. Because of space limitations, we are unable to place all of the slides from the lecture on the web site. These links will be constructed no later than a day or so after each lecture and will remain active for the duration of the course.

Syllabus

To obtain a duplicate of the syllabus distributed on the first day of class click the link in the navigation menu to the left. The syllabus contains a general description of the course including an overview of its content and format, brief descriptions of the types and number of assignments and tests in the course as well as their weighting in the final grade. It lists required and recommended texts and some expectations that you will have to fulfill in order to do well in the course.

Assignments

Look for complete descriptions of all course assignments here. Links to specific assignments (aside from readings, which are listed on the course schedule) will be activated on the day they are handed out in class.

Study aids

In addition to regular postings of slides from the lectures, we will post materials specifically intended to help you study for exams. Look for them here. You will also find here a downloadable copy of the course packet, which includes brief lecture notes. This is also available in a paper version at the UW Bookstore.
