TAPESTRY: The Art of Representation and Abstraction

OUTPUT:
Overview

"We gotta get out of this place." - The Animals

What's it all about?

It's pretty obvious that we don't see anything unless the program is able to create some output on the screen.

What is somewhat less obvious are the various ways in which limitations of the output device(s) we use change the ways in which we work. For example, creating detail in the model that cannot appear on the screen is a waste of time. Creating images too large to view effectively is also frustrating. Differences between the resolution and color range of printers and CRT monitors affect what we can do.

These issues, and perhaps others, will form the core of this section.
