Overview | In this course we focus on materials, their properties, the fabrication methods, and on how they are used through practice of detail development and documentation. You will learn how to develop a set of details for construction document sets, become familiar with traditional and non-traditional materials and construction technologies, their applications and properties as well as investigate innovative materials and technologies that offer sustainable alternatives to traditional materials and methods.
Objectives and goals | Develop an understanding of materials and their properties and confidence in construction techniques and documentation used in landscape construction.

Develop an understanding of how materials are joined and the resulting impact on the function and aesthetics of the design.

Learn to communicate your design ideas in a clear and concise manner.

Learn to draw and sketch construction details using both traditional manual techniques and computer aided drafting.
