  Working with Type

Contents:

One of the powerful features of Adobe Illustrator is the ability to use type as a graphic element.

To add type you use the type tool.
Select the type tool from the toolbox, and the pointer turns into an I-Beam. To begin adding type to a piece of artwork you position the I-Beam over the portion of the image where you want the type to begin, click, and then type away!
Note: To stop typing you click away from the type using a selection tool.
